By the time most of you read this blog, I will be on a plane heading for Chicago. It is the first day at my new company. And I am excited and ready to go.
I feel like things have really come together for this move. For those of you that haven't read any recent posts, I sold the camper the day after I hauled it back from Kentucky. My son finished his final cross country season. After ten years of saving, we were finally able to cap off the college funds for my oldest son, and we are able to extend the time in our home until June 1st. As I said, all is coming together.
I am enough of a realist to recognize that today may be the best day I have at my new company. But, something tells me that is not so. I think that there will be rough days ahead, and there will be things that are unexpected and out of our control. But I also think that the team is strong at their core and that the reputation of SRSI is still very strong in the community. I also think that with minor tweaks, this company can reach new heights of revenue, profitability, and world-class service.
For all those reasons, I am excited to do my part to help grow this company and to learn from the other team members so that together, the whole truly is greater than the sum.
