We call him Charlie!
Every room in our house that we spend time in is filled with "Charlie" stuff. There is no doubt when someone enters the front door and takes a few steps towards our living area that Charlie frequents our home. His favorite toys are ones that have something to do with tractors or trucks. He is most often seen with one in each hand. His laugh is so contagious and he is so handsome (cute at this stage) that I have a smile on my face almost all the time that he visits. He doesn't talk much yet and is a tiny little guy, but the attention that he gets wherever he goes with Mom and Dad lets me know that other people know he is a special child too. He loves riding his "bike" fast and loves to play in the water. He always is laughing or has a big smile on his face when he is doing either of those things. And when he is tired and ready for a rest, he snuggles up so close and rests on my chest with no care in the world.
Thank God for grandchildren. When Charlie is around I feel joy, peace, hope, and pure love. His visits are the highlight of my day.I also am encouraged daily by the way that my son and daughter-in-law are raising Charlie. I know that they will follow Isaiah, Chapter 54, verse 13 that states, "All your sons will be taught of Yahweh; and the peace of your sons will be great."
Charlie may grow up someday to change the world. I know that is possible but most likely not probable. My hope and prayer is that Charlie grows up to love the Lord, changes his "community" for the better, and has peace in his heart all of his days.
Papaw loves you more than you will ever know Charlie!!
