Random Thoughts

No Sunday Morning sermon this morning, just some random thoughts from the week.

  1. The U.S. citizen was conned again last week by Barack Obama.  His bus tour was phony.  Insiders report that he flew Air Force One to the nearest airport to his tour stops, got on the bus, rode down the road on the bus for a few miles, and then got off of the bus in an attempt to look like he was interested in the American people and connecting through his "grass-roots" bus tour.  Why am I not surprised?
  2. On Friday, our government reported that the net job change for August was ZERO. (The unemployment rate for black youth in American is 46.5%) This is the first time since February of 1945 that the government has had such dire news.  Ironically, two stories from the AP, just a matter of hours before the jobs report, wrote that 93,000 jobs were expected in August and that this showed confidence in the market place that the economy was rebounding.  Who is leaking this "stuff" and how much are these liberal democratic press members being paid to perpetrate the lie?
  3. College football started in full force this weekend.  Blogs, twitters, and Facebook posts proclaimed what a great day it is that college football is back. Fans were going crazy on TV.   Now don't get me wrong, I love football.  I played football in college and think the game is fantastic.  But it really has become a religion in the U.S.  I just wonder what could be accomplished if every one of those fans would instead put the same time, money, and energy into causes such as helping the homeless, taking care of the elderly, helping hurricane ravaged areas get back to normal, etc, etc. etc. I think it would be awesome!  And world changing.
  4. I finished several books this week.  I highly recommend "Necessary Endings" by Dr. Henry Cloud, "Onward" by Howard Shultz, "Traction" by Gino Wickman, "The Mentor Leader" by Tony Dungy,
  5. I blogged about global warming this week.  Guess what?  Scientists at the CERN super collider say that the suns rays are responsible for the earth's climate change.  You can read more about it in my blog titled, "Nice Bachelor Pad."
  6. I started my Twitter account this week.  I love it.  It is inspirational, informative, challenging, and interesting.  And I don't miss the drama of Facebook.  You should check out Twitter if you haven't yet.
  7. Joshua wanted me to include this tidbit of information.  He was impressed with Newton in his studies at school this week.  He says that he was the smartest, wisest man ever. Newton discovered gravity and described the laws of motion and made great discoveries in astronomy..  He proved heliocentrism was true.
Enjoy your Sunday and the holiday tomorrow!
